TIP #6 If your Register Reward doesn't print have them re-ring the order with no coupons. Chances are good the machine is on the fritz and it won't print without coupons either. Then you can give them that little “told you so” smile.
if you purchased the right items but didn't get your rr, you can call the catalina company @ 1-888-322-3814. it has been reported that a few stores have their registers and catalina machines programmed so that rr will not print if coupons are used - but if this is true, it is very rare.
When you shop at Walgreens, you'll occasionally get a paper coupon with your receipt if you've purchased a certain promo item — it spits out from the gray machine near the register (aka the Catalina machine). These are called Register Rewards (RR) and you can spend them on whatever you want in the store.
Register Rewards are like cash-with-an-expiration-date; they can be used to purchase anything with the exception of stamps, prescriptaions, gift cards, and a few other items.
Walgreens Cash will expire one year after you earn them or if your account has been inactive for six months. If your card is active, points expire on a rolling 12-month basis.
The maximum redemption limit per eligible transaction is 5000 points ($5 reward). *Points cannot be redeemed to purchase alcohol, dairy, tobacco, prepaid cards, clinic services, prescriptions, pharmacy items or services, contact lenses, and photo orders not picked up in store.
