The redesigned $5 bill was unveiled on September 20, 2007, and was issued on March 13, 2008 during a ceremony at President Lincoln's Cottage.

Along the left and right borders are the words "FIVE DOLLARS". 2. There's an "E PLURIBUS UNUM" at the top of the shield within the Great Seal and "USA" repeated in between the columns of the shield. 3.
When you tilt the bill, the denomination in the right bottom corner should change colors between copper and green. If the numbers do not change colors when you tilt the bill, it is counterfeit currency. The $5 bill does not have color-shifting ink.
What is the most common large size five dollar bill? That shameful designation is earned by the 1914 $5 blue seal federal reserve note. Most notes from that series are only worth about $40. As usual, there are exceptions, but 99% are worth less than $100.

The 1953 red seal five dollar bills came in four different varieties. There are four different series 1953, 1953 A, 1953 B, and 1953 C. All of these five dollar bills are worth about $6 each in average circulated condition. If they are uncirculated they can be worth up to 40 or 50 dollars.

On the latest $100 bill (series 2009), released last October, there is a blank creamy white area that contains a hidden watermark security feature to help negate counterfeiting. The US Treasury web site says that the hidden graphic is a portrait of Benjamin Franklin.
The $20 note includes an embedded security thread that glows green when illuminated by UV light. When held to light, a portrait watermark of President Jackson is visible from both sides of the note. The note includes a color-shifting numeral 20 in the lower right corner of the note.
Most large size two-dollar bills issued from 1862 through 1918, are highly collectible and are worth at least $100 in well-circulated condition. Uncirculated large size notes are worth at least $500 and can go up to $10,000 or more.
Look for the following symbols or patterns that can indicate a valuable 2-dollar bill: Palindromes - Also called "radar notes," these serial numbers read the same whether you look at them backwards or forwards. Repeated numbers - If the serial number repeats, this is rare and more valuable.
Hold the note to light to see an embedded thread running vertically to the left of the portrait. The thread is imprinted with the letters USA and the numeral 100 in an alternating pattern and is visible from both sides of the note. The thread glows pink when illuminated by ultraviolet light.
