The bottom line: This is a great card for a student learning to handle credit. On top of the rewards, you get a free FICO score, low fees and forgiveness for your first late payment.
The Discover it® Student Cash Back is one of the most rewarding student credit cards. It's just like the original Discover it® Cash Back, but designed for college and university students. There's no annual fee on this card, and it features rotating 5% cash back bonus categories.
There aren't any Discover cards that flat-out require excellent credit, currently. But we recommend a score of at least 700, which is toward the top of the good range, for the cards that require good credit for approval. So most Discover cards may be a tough get for the average person, who has a credit score of 669.

The Discover student credit card limit is $500 or more for both the Discover it Student chrome Card and the Discover it Student Cash Back Card. There is no reported maximum Discover student credit card limit, but there are reports of cardholders receiving an initial limit of as much as $3,000.
The student Discover card starts at 0% intro APR † †† for 6 months on purchases. Then 12.99% to 21.99% Standard Variable Purchase APR will apply. And there's no annual fee.
Discover does not disclose a maximum credit limit, but there are reports of some cardholders receiving credit limits between $10,000 and $20,000. As with all credit cards, an applicant will need to exceed the Discover it Cash Back card's approval requirements in order to get a credit limit above the minimum.
The big difference is in the initial bonus. Discover matches all cash back you've earned at the end of your first year, and Capital One nets you a one-time bonus of 50,000 miles when you spend $1,000 in your first three months. That's worth $500 in travel rewards. Both cards' miles are worth 1 cent each.
