The Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card will earn you rewards on dining and hitting the town. But it's neither the best rewards card for entertainment and dining, nor is it a great value for everyday spending. If you need a good 0% intro APR period, it's certainly an option.
On average, Citi ThankYou points are worth about 0.8 cents each, but it's not hard to get 1 cent per point by redeeming them for gift cards or flights. The easiest redemption options, cash back and statement credits, will only get you 0.5 cents per point, which drags down the average value of Citi ThankYou points.
You need a credit score of at least 700 for a Citi credit card in most cases. That means applicants for Citi credit cards need at least good credit to be approved.
The Citi ThankYou Preferred Credit Card is simple, not offering very much in terms of rewards and benefits. Cardholders earn 2X ThankYou reward points for dining, entertainment, cable, and streaming service purchases — but that's about it. There is no intro bonus offer.

The easiest Citi card to get is the Citi® Secured Mastercard® because it is the only one that will accept applicants with limited history credit history. This card requires a $200 refundable security deposit but has a $0 annual fee. It also helps build credit history with monthly reporting to the credit bureaus.
Unlike Chase, which has a similar 5/24 rule (only five new accounts in the last 24 months), Citi's limits on new cards only apply to other Citi cards.
